Badlands National
Park South Dakota |
Badlands National Park is
nestled in South Dakota. Here you will discover 244,000 acres of incredible
pinnacles, spines, and buttes. The land is a beautiful mixture of grasses,
covering 64,000 acres.
It is in the Badlands National Park where the
Black-Footed Ferret was reintroduced to save it from extinction. Although this
national park was first established in 1939 as a national monument, by 1978 it
had transitioned to a national park.
Experts believe this area once
co-managed by the Sioux Tribe is estimated to be around 11,000 years old.
Badlands makes an excellent travel destination for the entire family.
