California beaches are wonderful for family vacations where the weather is warm and the sand soft.
One of the most popular beaches in California is Venice Beach. Near Los Angeles, the children will love the street performers, as well as roller bladers and artists.
The unique mix of people what makes this, such a special place.
In addition, Santa Barbara is a wonderful family destination, offering more than 100 miles of coastline dotted with gorgeous beaches. You will find the water near Santa Barbara warmer than other areas in California with great beaches, warm sunny days, and beautiful trees.
Many of the beaches also feature trails where the family can walk, skateboard, or bike.
When I was a teenager, I hung out at Newport or Balboa beaches, occassionally Huntington, but those were the "good old days"! I will go back someday soon!
